Toast Online Ordering is a responsive web SaaS platform that integrates consumer orders seamlessly into Toast's POS system at restaurants. This platform follows a business-to-consumer (B2C) model.

Product Redesign

I initiated several efforts to improve the existing digital ordering product with the design team. In addition to research and design, my other responsibilities included creating project schedules, meeting with product stakeholders, and working closely with engineering and product. I also worked closely with my team determine roadmap objectives to execute the work.

MY ROLE: Research, strategy, wireframes and design, and usability testing with a team of 6-7 developers and 1 product manager.

THE GOAL: The team had specific ARR goals we wanted to reach with this product, through increased sales and payment processing fees. We hypothesized that sales and improve conversion rates would increase with an improved user experience and visual design.

Product Audit

This process included a product audit and a heuristic analysis. Samples of findings are below:

Team Whiteboarding

To get alignment with the entire team, I facilitated a whiteboarding session with the development, product, and design team. The goals of the session were to:

  1. Get everyone to look at our product from the perspective of our personas.

  2. Go through a "first time user" experience on our product.

  3. Map out their pain points in their experiences.

  4. Vote on the top 3 experiences they felt like would have highest impact for users if we had an opportunity to work on them as a team.
